SASI is governed by a locally elected school board that operates under a Public Law 100-297 Indian Self-Determination grant with the Bureau of Indian Education. SASI operates Atsa’ Biyaazh Community School, Shiprock Northwest Middle/High School, and a program for students with multiple disabilities providing culturally grounded, high-quality education for all students.

Shiprock Associated Schools, Inc. is guided by a dedicated Governing Board committed to supporting academic excellence, cultural strength, and the success of our students, families, and community.
Parents, guardians, students, and community stakeholders are welcome to attend SASI Governing Board meetings. Public participation is encouraged as part of our commitment to transparency, collaboration, and community engagement.
Our work is guided by four foundational Diné values:
-
K’é - Guides our relationships and proper conduct in how we engage with and respect one another.
-
Saad - Our source of strength, expressed through language, culture, and spirituality, helping us address the challenges of modern society.
-
Iiná - Applied learning and purposeful action that help us achieve our goals and solutions.
-
Ajóóba’- Kindness, compassion, peace, and balance in our interactions with people and all living things.
These principles help guide the Governing Board’s decisions as we work together to support the educational success and well-being of the next Rising Generation.
